About

Bar Rotunda is teaming up with prestigious Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant to highlight the historic winemaking regions of France and Italy. Each month the Bar Rotunda glass pour menu will be taken over by an exciting producer.
Join us March 18th through the 20th when we taste the wines of Guido Porro, a fourth generation maker from Piemonte.
The Northern Italian region of Barolo is long famous for the Nebbiolo grape. It is an unspoken law of the land that the best vineyard sites be reserved for the Nebbiolo grape, but Guido believes that all grapes can be great. So he has given some choice parcels over to the less-famous Barbera and Dolcetto grapes. Guido believes in utilizing only the best soils and vineyards for all of his wines, so the Barbera and Dolcetto vines are planted right next to his Nebbiolo. The result is that they are extremely drinkable in their youth. The fact remains though, that Guido’s Barolo bottlings are the stars of the show. The wines are now bottled at the estate rather than sold in barrels to locals. So we are thrilled to have these wines available by the glass for a few days, and hope you join us!
Chef Vince Strolis has even prepared Vitello Tonnato, a traditional dish of Piedmont, to complement the wines.
